and this week we have one of the best act from the North who double up as a music producer,DJ and a Rap act,DJ CYNCH is a kaduna based act and he was around for a chat,here is what went down.

YOUR EMERGENCE INTO THE SCENE AS A PRODUCER,DJ AND A RECORDING ACT LEFT EVERYONE WONDERING WHO THIS GUY IS.WHO IS DJ CYNCH?

I'm a Ham boy from Kwoi, Jaba local government of Kaduna state. I was born in in Zaria city, Kofan Gaya, I graduated from the Department of English and Drama, Kasu. I'm a music artist, producer, Dj, Song writer and performer.

 HOW WAS YOU UPBRINGING LIKE?
I grew up in Zaria, my late dad was a lecturer and my late mum was a primary school teacher so I'm from an average home.

MUSIC SEEMS EASY FOR YOU, DID YOU LEARN MUSIC OR BORN WITH MUSIC?
I was born with music but I also worked hard to develop my talent.

THE NIGERIAN MUSIC SCENE HAVE BEEN TAKING OF BY YOUNG ACT,HOW IS THE GAME GROWING HAVING SOME GUYS LIKE KISS DANIEL,SKALES,TECKNO AND OTHER YOUNG ACT TAKING OVER THE SCENE,IS IT A GAME OVER FOR THE OLDER FOLKS?
We still Have older folks like 2baba, Psquare etc, still doing their thing. So I will say its not game over for older folks who up their game and blend with the trend

CLASIQ AND MOREL HAVE JOINED THE LEAGUE OF INDIGENOUS ACT,DO YOU SEE THE NORTH COMPETING WITH OTHER ACT IN REP PING THEIR ZONES?
I think it's now our turn in the north to show what we got, and I'm glad that the industry here is growing gradually.

CHECKING YOUR RECENT ACTIVITIES,YOU’VE  BEEN BUSY PROMOTING YOUR PROJECTS AND ALSO WITH A LOT OF SHOWS,HOW DO YOU COMBINE BOTH?
Its our work ooh (in Falz voice) its not easy but that's Showbiz for you. Performing at shows is also part of promotion.

YOUR SONG “DURUNWA” IS ALREADY MAKING WAVES THAN JUST ANTICIPATIONS,WHAT DID YOU DO?

Durun-Uwa to me means achievement, Success, Greatness etc, everyone has a success story, I and my crew (TBF Crew) performed in a show at Sheraton Hotel Abuja 2yrs back and we killed it. That was what inspired the song, if you listen to the first verse of the song you'll understand what I mean.

AFTER “DURUNWA”WHAT NEXT?

After Durun-Uwa more Durun Uwa are coming because I've been working on a lot of projects and collaborations, Like i  got this song with D.I.A, IBI, and Kevin words dropping soon too.

ANY PLANS ON WORKING WITH ANY BIG ACT?

For now I'm trying to build my brand and enlarge my fan base but I'm looking forward to working with other established artist in the nearest future.

WHO IS YOUR INFLUENCE IN MUSIC?
My environment inspires my sound.

IF YOU WERE NOT DOING MUSIC AND PRODUCTIONS WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE BEEN DOING?

I would have been a lecturer like my late dad or a Basketballer.

WHO IS YOU CELEBRITY CRUSH?

I don't have any but I like Tiwa Savage,  Yemi Alade and Cynthia Morgan.

WHO DO YOU SEE BEEN THE NEXT BIG THING FROM THE MUSIC SCENE IN KADUNA?

My self and IBI, Kayyswaggz, Kollabo, Yung Millz and  Laice

HOW SUPPORTIVE IS THE MEDIA IN GROWING THE NORTHERN ACTS?

The media is trying but they need to do more. If they can play 60% Arewa and 40% others on our Fm stations it will help the industry grow faster
