Kaduna Film Festival offers a contemporary and liberal platform for the filmmakers of the World to exhibit the excellence of the film art form.
The contributions of Nigeria’s film industry, the second-largest in the world in terms of number of films produced, to the national economy have become all the clearer after the rebasing of the country’s GDP last year.
A move to recalculate the net worth of Nigeria’s economy in 2014 saw the number of industries or activities used for assessment purposes rise from 33 to 46, with a noticeable shift in emphasis towards
technology driven sectors.
Among the segments included for the first time were the film industry, the IT sector, the music industry, on-line sales and telecommunications. As a result of the rebasing exercise, Nigeria’s GDP in 2013 jumped from an initial estimate of $285.5bn to $510bn.
The Nigerian film industry, known as Nollywood, is a key contributor to the increase. Under the rebasing conducted by the state statistics agency, the film industry accounted for more than 1.4% of GDP – or $7.2bn of Nigeria’s economy. With an estimated 1m people directly or indirectly working in the industry, the making, distributing and screening of moving pictures has become the country’s second-biggest source of employment after agriculture.
The aim of the Kaduna film festival is mainly to contribute to the understanding and appreciation of cultures of Nigerian as a whole and other nations. We hope to present complex human situations of this rapidly changing world in the globalized era.
I want to also urge all film makers to give stories fighting corruption, peace and unity, and what will give morals and lessons to the society not just for movie making sake. The Kaduna film festival will see how it will bring unity to northern Nigeria through film take for example majority of Christians live in southern Kaduna while the Muslims in northern Kaduna, this is the case of Kaduna state. bringing together the Nollywood and kannywood together making them to understand the unity of life, to see how we can fight corruption through films.
I did not choose Kaduna for my selfish reasons but I know Kaduna is the heart of the north we just celebrated our centenary last year and most of the "stars" now in the industry have their root in Kaduna state and will now go to Lagos and invest so i want to see how the entertainment too can be brought to Kaduna if Lagos can make it we too can make it. During the festival days Kaduna should be expecting different celebrities flying in to Kaduna in numbers.
We have lot of talent in Kaduna state but lack the platform but this film festival will make them meet their favorite celebrity stars one on one interact with them through masterclass and other activities set aside for the festival also want to see unemployed youth use their talent to be self employed for those with talent of
Acting, directing, makeup, dancing, Mc/comedy, presenting, cinematography.
Film producers in Nigeria (NOLLYWOOD AND KANNYWOOD) and abroad are requested to send entries of their films videos shot in the last 24 months and stand a chance of being listed in the roll call of honours.

Blessed with a soulful, multi – octave voice and a flair for leading God’s people in praise and worship, Anietie Bature, fondly called Annie is a contemporary Gospirational Artist, Song Writer, Insightful Blogger and Keynote Speaker, dedicated to extending the frontiers of the Gospel of Christ to the ends of the earth through music, blog posts, keynote speeches, inspirational products and resources.

She holds a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering from Federal University of Technology (FUT) Minna, a Masters Degree in Environmental Technology and Management from De Montfort University, Leicester, United Kingdom, and is currently serving as Music Director in the City of David, Eket (of the Redeemed Christian Church of God) and pursuing a career in the energy industry.

Anietie was born to Deaconess Dorcas and Late Mr. Patrick Umoffia, on November 2, 1980 in Calabar, Cross River State, and grew up as the youngest of seven. Typical of most great musical acts, she started off singing with a Church choir and a rapidly emerging children’s group named Shallom Kids, performing her first solo ”Jesus Wants Me For A Sun Beam” at about age seven at the Lutheran Church of Nigeria, Efut Parish, Calabar.

Anietie’s performances continued on various platforms and choirs such as PinseKirken in Esbjerg, Denmark, Christian Unity Chapel Choir of FGGC Calabar, Family Worship Center Abuja, Lagos Community Gospel Choir (LCGC) and The Living Vessels (TLV) of FUT Minna, where she learnt how to write songs and experienced the most growth musically. She is also a pioneer member of the Prophetic Praise Summit (PPS), Abuja and has served as backup singer and worship leader in a number of these groups.

Anietie went on to develop a contemporary, Christian Pop, Hip Hop, R & B and Worship style that has won her critical acclamation and an expanding fan base both locally and internationally.

As one who stayed plugged in to music at different stages of her life, Anietie heard everything from Gospel legends Bob Fitts and the Maranatha Singers, Ron Kenoly, Shirley Caesar, Yolanda Adams, Panam Percy Paul, Andre Crouch, Ray Boltz to Karen Clark Sheard, Cece Winans, Darlene Zschech, Hillsong, Israel Houghton, Martha Munizi, The Tommies, amongst others. The influence of these gospel greats combined with family upbringing and a consistent participation in musical endeavors helped to shape her as a singer.

After many years of drawing inspiration from those that have gone before her as well as her own life experiences, she started composing her own songs. In 2004 she recorded her first single, and announced herself as professional with the release of her 12-track album titled ‘Revealed’ in August, 2013.

Anietie's evolution saw her progression in music coupled with her talent as an Ardent Blogger and her emergence as a Keynote Speaker. After several years of keeping the world waiting, the wife and mother of three kids has released a high – spirited smash hit single entitled ‘My Whole Life’, produced by iChek, as well as shot the music video, so is a potential album dropping soon? Only time will tell.
